Frontman Justin Hayward-Young’s rapid recital of poignant lyrics was majestic as he looked out wild-eyed upon the crowd before him.

High-octane throughout, the band went back to “the archives” with fan favourites such as ‘Post Break-Up Sex’ and ‘If You Wanna’. Mixed in with the classics, new track ‘Your Love Is My Favourite Band’ was a real highlight and a throwback to that polished 70s and 80s rock they were hoping to emulate on their new record — undoubtedly one of this year’s hottest albums.

What did we expect from The Vaccines? A dose of up-beat, guitar-driven anthems to get every Indie Cindy up and dancing. What were we treated to? Well, that, and a real coming-of-age performance that further engrained their status as one of the UK’s best indie rock bands (like we didn’t know that already!).
