WHO
Generation Feral is an anti-establishment ukulele warrior. The DIY solo project of Izzy Liddamore is for fans of Kae Tempest and Fiona Apple: she serves up a strange soup of spoken word, raging art-punk, and vulnerable piano music – accompanied with a generous side of female rage. Opening for artists such as Antony Szmeriek, The Menstrual Cramps, The Meffs and Getdown Services this past year, plus sharing a bill with none other than Jeremy Corbyn, Feral’s music spans the sincere (the cost of living crisis + patriarchal skirt lengths) to the silly (her deep longing passion for the megabus). Generation Feral’s writing style is fascinated with lived experience and human emotion – sometimes aimed sharply at the government’s failings of the people, sometimes pen-down in an act of helpless surrender and emotional overwhelm. Powered by her Essex ferocity, armed with her smaller than average instrument + backed by Tom Robinson on 6music, she’s one to watch this year.
