Leeds College of Music bring the beats to the campsites

Leeds College of Music is heading to Leeds Festival once again! The line up features 23 student artists taking to the stage as campsite DJs – and here’s just a few that you’ll see keeping the after-party going all weekend…

Gnasha

One of the freshest faces in dubstep, Gnasha brings heavyweight bass and atmospheric beats to UK sound systems. Gnasha has been making waves in the UK grime and dubstep scene, supporting the likes of Mr.K, Nausika and Nomine. With high-energy DJ sets and hard-hitting production, she has landed prime spots on Rinse FM France and Subtle FM, and has a forthcoming release on NSX records.

M.U.2

M.U.2 is a house DJ and member of collective Fifth Element. After playing at Leeds festival in 2018, M.U.2 has gone on to play at renowned venues in Leeds andat Welly in Hull supporting Michael Bibi and Richy Ahmed. His quick, tight mixing style compliments his high energy sets filled with huge dancefloor stompers. M.U.2 has varied sets from Disco, House to Tech House and Techno, with an underlying groovy, funky element to the tracks he plays.

Tree

Tree is an alternative rock artist and, since signing to label MAS in 2016, she has performed at Centre Stage competition, the Edinburgh Fringe festival and is currently working on her first album Create Your Own Weather, set for release in 2020. One of the first LCoM students to enter the ERASMUS programme, Tree started DJing whilst living in the Netherlands, as an after-set to live shows. Her sets promise a fun, rock throwback!

kitsøn

Ryan Kitson, or ‘kitsøn’ (formerly KTYKT), developed his sound working on house remixes. After building a relationship with Croatia’s Deepnd Records, he collaborated with eedion on ‘Stronger’ under Lacuna Records, gaining 500,000 streams across various platforms. kitsøn’s sound has since evolved further, branching out into a variety of different sounds including bassline, garage, house and EDM.
